  "Description": "Functions for calculating biochemical methane potential\n(BMP) from laboratory measurements and other types of data\nprocessing and prediction useful for biogas research. Raw\nlaboratory measurements for diverse methods (volumetric,\nmanometric, gravimetric, gas density) can be processed to\ncalculate BMP. Theoretical maximum BMP or methane or biogas\nyield can be predicted from various measures of substrate\ncomposition. Molar mass and calculated oxygen demand (COD') can\nbe determined from a chemical formula. Measured gas volume can\nbe corrected for water vapor and to standard (or user-defined)\ntemperature and pressure. Gas quantity can be converted between\nvolume, mass, and moles. A function for planning BMP\nexperiments can consider multiple constraints in suggesting\nsubstrate or inoculum quantities, and check for problems.\nInoculum and substrate mass can be determined for planning BMP\nexperiments. Finally, a set of first-order models can be fit to\nmeasured methane production rate or cumulative yield in order\nto extract estimates of ultimate yield and kinetic constants.\nSee Hafner et al.
